Do you prefer a refreshing taste or do you enjoy the aftertaste? We will introduce two ways to drink this shochu so that you can fully enjoy
its lychee-like aroma.
One of the joys of authentic shochu is that you can enjoy it in a variety of ways, depending on what you're drinking that day and at what time of day you're drinking it.
One of the most recommended is the “Daiyame Highball,” which is made by putting a lot of ice cubes in a glass and mixing it with soda water. There is also the “Cool Daiyame”, which is made by chilling the bottle in the fridge and drinking it straight from the bottle.
So, where are you tonight?
Mix it with some refreshing soda before or during your meal!
“Oyagami Highball”
Mixing it with carbonated water washes away grease from food and leaves a refreshing aftertaste.
In addition, its smooth carbonation and strong taste
are ideal for pairing with strong-flavored dishes.
It is therefore particularly recommended as an aperitif or mid-meal drink.
Fill the glass with plenty of ice.
Pour chilled daiyaime in the refrigerator.
* Recommend a ratio of shochu: carbonated water = 4:6.
Slowly pour in cold soda.
Stir gently once with the muddler.
The Daiyame Highball is ready.
Add cut lemon if desired and enjoy.

“That's pretty cool”
When chilled, the taste tightens up and the drink becomes sweet, mild and thick,
The sweet, mellow, thick taste and slight bitterness are well balanced. It has an addictive taste.
It is especially good with desserts that have a moderate sweetness and acidity, and is recommended
as an after-dinner drink.
Of course, it can also be enjoyed during a meal.
Chill the Daiyame bottle in a refrigerator
or wine cooler (about 4°C) as it is.
Pour directly into a wine glass.
It is a recommended after-dinner drink that goes well with sweet and sour desserts such as western sweets (e.g., chocolate) and dried fruits. It is also recommended as an accompaniment to Western foods such as cheese, garlic, and other peculiar foods, stewed beef in red wine, sauteed chicken, and gratins.

The sweet, mellow and mild taste is balanced by a slight bitterness. It is characterized by its crisp aftertaste.
It is an excellent match for Western-style dishes such as beef stewed in red wine, sautéed chicken, and sweets such as chocolate-based confections and dried fruits.
Watered
In addition to its mild aroma, it has a good balance of clean sweetness and moderate bitterness, and enhances the flavor of food as a food wine.
Try it with stir-fried dishes such as pork ginger yaki, yakitori, and claypot meat. Try it with lightly steamed dishes such as pork shabu-shabu and hot vegetables.
hot water mixed
It has a gentle aroma and a full, sweet flavor. It is a refreshing drink that warms both body and soul.
It is recommended for stewed dishes such as meat and potatoes, yellowtail radish, and oden, as well as Kagoshima's local cuisine such as satsuma-age and tonkotsu (pork bone).
The tangy accent of ginger goes well with DAIYAME, and the hot water makes the lychee flavor more noticeable.
This hot cocktail is perfect for the beginning of autumn when the weather gets colder.
