Founded in 1873. The brand name "Atago no Matsu" has been around since the time of its establishment and has been well-known locally. In 2000, Iwao Shinzawa (5th generation), the current president of the company, became the youngest toji (master brewer) in Miyagi Prefecture. The following year, a new brand, "Hakurakusei," was released exclusively to special distributors. At a time when only the words "aperitif" and "after-dinner drink" existed, Hakurakusei was a pioneer in the field of "in-dinner drinks," aiming to create a sake that would complement any dish. Today, based on the concept of "the ultimate food sake," Hakurakusei is used in many starred restaurants both in Japan and abroad.
