The Friars Lugana Doc It is our pride, the wine that made us known and continues to be the image of the company. It has a direct line with its variety, Turbiana, our native vine. Designed to be consumed in the vintage, it expresses the best part of itself many years after bottling. In its youth it is fresh, linear and endowed with great finesse and elegance with delicate notes of white flowers, balsamic notes and hints of apricot. Time allows it to evolve expressing with greater determination the mineral notes thus acquiring its complexity with hints of iodine, spices and candied fruit. In the mouth it is able to envelop the entire palate thanks to an important savoury essence accompanied by lively and exuberant acidity. In its youth it is best served at a temperature of around 10 degrees, with cold or warm but delicate appetizers and accompanies fish dishes whether boiled, steamed or grilled. Vigneti del Salento ZOLLA Primitivo 2021 Ruby red color with violet dark hints. Intense, complex, fruity aroma, with notes of small red fruits (cherries and blackberries). Velvety texture, soft, warm and quite tannic, with great taste-olfactory persistence. Excellent with robust pasta dishes and lamb, excellent with game with rich sauces, seasoned cheeses. VINEYARDS Our grapes are located between Sava and Manduria, in the heart of the production area of Primitivo di Manduria. The warmth of the sun and the proximity to the lonian Sea are the most important factors for the production of Primitivo. This land gives life to the typical bush vines, "albarello" of over 30 years old which give to the wine a unique aromatic characteristic. VINIFICATION De-stemming and crushing of the grapes, maceration at a controlled temperature for 8-10 days with regular pumping overs. Draining off and malo-lactic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Refining in used American and French oak barriques for the next 6-8 months. Doppio Passo Primitivo 2024    The wine is made from 100% Primitivo grapes, which are harvested at two different times, at maturity and at a later time. Once in the cellar, the grapes are vinified in steel vats at a controlled temperature. Subsequently it refines for a few months on the fine lees before being bottled. Intense ruby red color, the nose reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruit, blackberry and cherry. The sip is structured and balanced, with soft tannins and a very pleasant persistence.
