Hamada Shuzo has been brewing shochu in Ichiki-Kushikino since the first year of Meiji era (1868). Today we have three breweries, Denbei, Denzoin, and Kanayama, each of which embodies our core shochu-making philosophy of tradition, innovation, and inheritance.
We also have a long-held dream of making authentic shochu a true national liquor, and even a world-class liquor. Authentic shochu has a long history of 500 years, and it has a cultural and popular appeal that is worthy of not only Kagoshima, but of Japan as a whole. As a shochu shop, our wish is that it becomes commonplace to drink authentic shochu all over the world, just like whiskey. To achieve this, we continue to pursue the pursuit of delicious shochu while preserving the traditional taste, and because our three breweries have different characteristics, we are able to express the depth of our shochu from a variety of different directions. On the other hand, we also connect with various organizations and people beyond the boundaries of a company, working hand in hand to realize our dreams.
