Hyakunen no Koroku” is an exquisite example of authentic shochu made by storing and aging barley shochu for a long time. The barley shochu stored is made from handmade malted rice and selected barley only, using the traditional techniques handed down over 100 years since the company was founded in 1878, and distilled using a single distillation method with a hot still.Elegant with oak and cigar aromas, it is characterized by its richness and smoothness, with a multitude of coconut and wheat flavors. Drinking it with water brings out the sweetness of the grains, resulting in a pleasant and complex flavor that combines many flavors at once. Served hot, the flavors intensify, providing a complex and multilayered taste.
Founded in 1885.
The brewery is a research-oriented shochu distiller that continues to take on various challenges, starting with the very popular Hyakunen no Koroku (Solitude of a Hundred Years) shochu, which is made by aging barley shochu for a long time in the emptiness of whisky and other liquors.
They are also particular about their raw materials.
They are actively involved in their own organic farming methods, recycling, and regional recycling-oriented agriculture.
We are impressed by their serious attitude toward making shochu that is safe and secure to drink.
