Made from organically grown sweet potatoes from Kagoshima, it is produced by the traditional and labor-intensive “fermented in Kamet-subp (a traditional stone pot)”
Even after gaining popularity as a high-class shochu, they have stated that they will not increase the production volume from 50 pots(about 150,000 1800 ml bottles a year), as they were when the company was founded in 1868.
Due to its high quality and limited production, Moriizumi Sweet Potato Shochu is generally considered a premium shochu and is sought after worldwide.
