Founded in 1688 during the Genroku era, Katsuyama Brewery is a long-established brewery located in Sendai, a castle town of the Date clan with a fiefdom of 620,000 koku, and served as the official brewery of the Sendai clan during the feudal era. Established more than 330 years ago, the brewery has been the only official brewery in Sendai Prefecture, and in 2005, it was relocated from Uesugi, Aoba-ku, in the center of Sendai City, to Wazumi, Fukuoka City, at the foot of Mount Izumi, the source of the brewing water.
We aim to express the original deliciousness and clear flavor of sake by making all of our sake with the utmost precision and purity.
