Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label is a blended Japanese whisky that was first released in 1937. It is a  flagship product of Suntory, and its name “Kakubin” means “square bottle” in Japanese. The whisky is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, with the malt whiskies coming from the Yamazaki and Hakushu  distilleries. It has a light, fruity flavor with notes of apple, lemon, and honey. It is bottled at 40% ABV. It was the dream of Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii that paved the way for the history of whisky making in Japan. In 1923, Shinjiro began construction of Japan's first whisky distillery in Yamazaki, on the outskirts of Kyoto. Learning from authentic Scottish methods, he began a process of trial and error to create a flavor that would suit the delicate taste of the Japanese people in Japan's climate and environment.
